  • YouTube: captions when the video has them, otherwise AI transcription.
  • X videos up to 2 minutes: transcribed directly.
  • Longer X videos: transcribed with Whisper from the video file.

Long AI transcriptions can take a minute or two. If one is still running you get Status: pending: transcription in progress … and should re-run the same command shortly. That’s not an error (exit code 0).

Transcripts are cached for 30 days, so reading one again (or its next chunk) is free. Long transcripts are split into chunks of about 20,000 characters; follow the next: line.
