A subreddit’s posts (default hot, 25, max 100). --time applies to top only (default week). Each post shows points, the share of upvotes, the comment count, flair, the link or media, and the start of its text.

scrollhound reddit post <post> [--comments <n>] [--sort top|best|new|controversial|old|qa]

A post in full. Takes a post URL, a redd.it link or the post id. Add --comments <n> for up to n comments of its tree (default 0, max 500; default order top). Comments are nested bullets, with OP for the post’s author and [mod] for moderators:

One read covers up to about 500 comments, and costs the same with or without them. Bigger threads, deep branches and removed comments mean some aren’t shown, and the output always ends by saying so:

shown 311 of 318 comments (ask for more comments for a fuller read; Reddit also holds back some branches and some comments are removed)

Add --json for every comment that was fetched.

Search posts across Reddit, or in one subreddit with --sub (default 25, max 100; --time defaults to week).

Not found

A subreddit that doesn’t exist, or is private, banned or quarantined, returns not_found (exit 4). Reddit doesn’t say which, so the hint covers all four. Asking again within an hour is free.
