Weekly niche brief
One brief from the past week's top Reddit posts, most liked X posts and most viewed YouTube videos on a topic. Built to run every Monday.
The jobTell me what my niche talked about this week, with sources.
Step 1
The prompt
In ClaudePick Weekly niche brief from Scrollhound's prompts in the + menu and fill in the blanks.
In ChatGPTCopy the prompt, replace the parts in angle brackets, and send it with Scrollhound turned on.
Use Scrollhound to build my weekly brief on "<topic>" for the past 7 days: - Reddit: a search for the topic inside each of these subreddits: <subreddits>, plus their top posts of the week. Keep only posts that are really about the topic (a Reddit-wide search also returns news that just mentions the words). - X: posts about the topic from the last 7 days with at least 50 likes, top first. - YouTube: videos about the topic from the last 7 days, by relevance (sorting by views pulls in unrelated viral Shorts), then weigh them by views. Write the brief as: the 5 conversations that mattered most this week (what happened and why people cared), questions people keep asking, content that clearly worked (format and hook), and 3 ideas I could post next week. Quote people's exact words, put the link after every quote, and say how many posts, comments or videos you actually read. Don't invent quotes or numbers; if the sources don't support a point, say so.

Run it every Monday in Cowork
A fresh brief is waiting when your week starts, with links to everything it read.
- 1In the Claude desktop app, open Cowork, click Scheduled in the left sidebar, then New task and Set up manually.
- 2Name it Weekly niche brief and paste the prompt with every part in angle brackets filled in. A scheduled run can't ask you questions, so leave no blanks.
- 3Set how often to Weekly (Monday morning).
- 4Pick an approval mode you're comfortable with. Scrollhound's tools only read, so they can't post or change anything.
- 5Make sure Scrollhound is connected in Cowork (see setup), then save. Each run shows up as its own session on the Scheduled page.
Scheduled tasks are on Claude's paid plans and run on Anthropic's servers, so they keep to schedule even when your computer is asleep. Each run uses your Scrollhound reads like any other request.
Step 3
What comes back: a real run
Real run · 27 Oct 2026topic: social media strategysubreddits: socialmedia
What it read: The week's top 8 posts in r/socialmedia, X posts about social media managers and content strategy with 50+ likes, and 8 YouTube videos from the past week.
Conversations that mattered
- Client trust: "My client was paying for 20 hours and using 9. I almost lost them by saying nothing." (75 points)
- Posting frequency: "Is posting every day really necessary to grow on Instagram?" (40 comments)
- Fatigue: "Social media has completely lost its identity, and I’m so exhausted by it"
Content that worked
- On YouTube, Kallaway's "Give Me 24 Minutes, I'll Give You 10,000 Hours of Content Strategy": 33.2K views in five days.
- On X, a social media manager on AI video: "the thing I need most from AI video is voices that don't make people scroll past." (post)

Questions
What does the Weekly niche brief recipe need?
Scrollhound added to Claude or ChatGPT as a connector, and your niche in a few words. It reads Reddit, X, YouTube.
Does it make things up?
The prompt tells the AI to quote people's exact words with a link after each quote, to say how much it read, and not to invent quotes or numbers. Every quote links to its source, so you can check it.
Does it post anything?
No. Scrollhound only reads. It never posts, likes, follows or asks for your social logins.
