Add Scrollhound to Claude or ChatGPT
Scrollhound plugs into the AI you already use as a connector. You add one link, sign in with your email, and your AI can read Reddit, X, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn for you. No terminal, no install.
The link you'll paste:
https://api.scrollhound.com/mcpClaude (web, desktop and Cowork)
Works on every Claude plan. On the Free plan you can add one custom connector.
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors.
- Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Scrollhound, paste the link above and continue.
- Under Authentication, keep sign-in on, then click Add.
- Sign in with your email. We send you a 6-digit code; enter it and approve access. Your first sign-in creates your account, with 100 free reads to start.
- In a chat, click + at the bottom left, choose Connectors and turn Scrollhound on.
The connector also works in Cowork and the Claude desktop app, so you can put a research job in a scheduled task.
Claude Team or Enterprise
An owner adds the connector once for the whole organisation:
- Open Organization settings → Connectors.
- Click Add, hover over Custom and choose Web.
- Name it Scrollhound, paste the link above, keep sign-in on and click Add.
Then each person opens Customize → Connectors, finds Scrollhound and clicksConnect to sign in with their own email. Each person has their own account and usage.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT lets you add a custom MCP server on Business, Enterprise and Edu, and on Pro for servers that only read, like Scrollhound. It works on the web, not the mobile apps. On a Business workspace only admins and owners can add one.
- Go to Plugins, click + and choose Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Scrollhound and paste the link above as the server URL.
- Choose OAuth for authentication.
- Tick I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
- Sign in with your email and the code we send, and approve access.
- In a new chat, type @ and pick Scrollhound.
Menu names in ChatGPT change often. If yours look different, the link above is still the only thing you need. See the ChatGPT guide for details.
Ask your first question
Try one of these, or just paste a Reddit, X, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or LinkedIn link:
- “What are people in r/socialmedia asking about this week? Group the questions, with links.”
- “Get the transcript of this YouTube video, TikTok or Reel and list its hooks: <paste a link>”
- “Find X posts about <your niche> with 100+ likes this month and tell me what they have in common.”
Every answer comes with links to the posts, comments and videos it used, so you can check them and quote them.
Claude Code and other agents
Developers can use the command-line tool and its skill in Claude Code, or add the same link to Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and other agents.
